About us
Over 50 years of existence!
The Gouverneur chain, a leader in Quebec's hotel industry, operates hotels recognized for their friendly staff and welcoming atmosphere throughout the province. During its 50 years of existence, over 30 million visiters from Quebec and abroad have stayed at its establishments.
History

In 1964, a group of Quebec City business people launched what would become the first Hôtels Gouverneur hotel, a 114-room complex in Ste-Foy, under the American Congress Inn chain.

A few years later, the owners of the hotels decided to drop the American affiliation to launch a Quebecois chain of hotel with a welcoming atmosphere and personalized services. It was an instant success.

The new hotel chain opened locations in a few cities of Quebec. Having grown in size with a new focus on urban centres, it adopted the name Hôtels Gouverneur in 1998.
Today, after more than 50 years of history and success, Hôtels Gouverneur, proudly Québécois, owns a major market share in each region with its top quality hotels.
